Meet Our Staff
Deryl Palmer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Infant Mental Health Specialist in Southern New Mexico, where he resides with his wife and three children. Deryl has over 20 years experience as a mental health clinician. In 2011 he took a leap of faith in starting a non-profit counseling agency, Amistad Family Services, Inc. Through the adoption of his oldest son, his service to Mesilla Valley CASA, and numerous leadership roles in child advocacy and clinical supervision throughout the state, Deryl has dedicated much of his professional life to the wellbeing of children and their families. In addition to being the CEO and Clinical Director of Amistad Family services, Deryl is also a Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) state trainer and provides clinical consultation and reflective supervision to numerous therapists across the state.
Kim Frost has been with Amistad since August of 2015. She studied Business Management and obtained her BBA from the University of New Mexico. Her role is ever changing, but she works alongside the administrative team and providers to ensure the needs of our office are met administratively.
When Kim is not working, her greatest joy is spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys traveling, gardening and reading.
Shannon has been with Amistad from the beginning. She started as a receptionist and was the first welcoming face client’s saw when they came in. She was integral part of Amistad’s growth and a driving force in shaping Amistad’s culture and how we do business. Shannon is now our office manager and the supervisor to our front office staff.
Shannon has a wonderful husband and two grown children (a doctor and a nurse). She enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs, especially outdoors fishing and camping or working in her yard. WE LOVE YOU Shannon!
Front Office Lead
Fun fact, my name has indigenous roots and loosely translated means full moon. I am not originally from Las Cruces, but have lived here most of my adult life and am still not used to the heat. I enjoyed my time at NMSU earning a BA in Psychology and appreciate my position at Amistad Family Services, interacting with our clients and watching the good things our families accomplish is so rewarding. I have several children of my own that keep me busy outside of work, and I enjoy the busy mom life very much.
Cornerstone Administrative Assistant
Erika Ramos is the first face you will see at the front desk of Cornerstone Christian Counseling. Working as a receptionist means she gets the opportunity to meet many great people. Las Cruces is where she calls home which is where she was born and raised. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two wonderful children whether it is riding the go-kart or going to the movies. She also enjoys volunteering in her husband’s student ministry.
Part-Time Administrative Assistant
Asia is a New Mexico native, born in Silver city and raised in Las Cruces. She is currently enrolled as a full-time student at NMSU, with an associates in media technology and working towards a degree in art education. She really enjoys her position working at Amistad, and looks forward to engaging with Amistad clients everyday.
